Hi,
I've been treating a lady of 35 who suffers from ME for a couple of months now and to be honest am stuck as to what to do next!

We began treatment with the HS sites around the body and after several treatments she said this made her dizziness and nausea worse, so she asked me to stop this. This was frustrating because I felt we were starting to get some where (aggravated symptoms and so on).

She also has chronic neck pain and headaches which I have treated with the usual flex array (cycle 3) work on the dermatomes. This has had some success but with ME she has "ups and downs" with muscular pain.

She suffers IBS, I have used the flex array on the lumbar/thoracic junction. Then used circular movements in clockwise direction around abdomen for 20 mins on 15-60.

However, she continues to feel the same symptoms when her life gets stressful and sometimes they even get worse again.

So what I'm trying to find out is which problem I am supposed to tackle first with her suffering IBS, tension in the neck and shoulders, nausea, dizziness, tiredness!!!!

Anyone have any advice?

ME is a very complex chronic condition and you are doing everything right. It is not unusual that when you start treating, a number of other associated symptomes become more pronounced, as you said, it is like 'peeling an onion'. You should bear in mind, address one problem at a time, that is why the patients should have a course of treatments. For example, if she comes with symptoms of poor sleep and indigestion since the last treatment, you should treat the Sacral area with the Flexible array, and scanning and treating the Active Sites in the abdomen area. Next time, she might say, that she feels pain in her neck, then you should only focus on treating her neck.

I would recommend to give her a long course of 10 - 12 treatments with the frequncy of visits down to once a week. This regime will help her body process the stimulation gently. Use the Chronic Presets and very comfortable intensity of stimulation.

Treatment of Neural (HS) points is a very good protocol, great to add the treatment of the Source Acupuncture points. Don't forget to start every treatment with Trigeminal points on the face.

Exercising is crucial in treating patients with ME. After reducing muscular spasms with the InterX, it is important that regular exercises like walking, stretching with breathing is done, starting from the fourth week onwards with increasing reps.

Encourage her to rest after the treatment and check her nutrition.

Thanks so much Zulia. I will take your points on board and exercise them in her new course of treatments.
