Type2 Diabetic and painful feet.

Hi there, I have a patient who has come to me for treatment for pain in his upper arm. He also has pain in the balls of his feet. His feet are cold with little sensation. as he is type2 diabetic he was concerned this was the teason for painful feet. His Doctor has assured him it's nothing to do with his diabetes. As I treated his back I pit the pads under his feet but am I ok to treat his feet?

Thank you

Susie

yes, It is ok and actually you do need to treat his feet as they become his primary complaint. the InterX will stimulate a local circulation and will produce a pain relief. it was also a good strategy to treat his lower back at the same session. try to also do a soft tissue release on his both feet. let us know about the outcome

Fantastic, thank you Zulia. Good to know I'm on the right track. He was very happy with his first treatment. I'll let you know how we get on after next session.

Second treatment today. His arm is almost back to normal, he's very happy. I worked on his feet today. He has very little sensation in them but he felt the InterX at certain points. Also, his are constantly cold but I treated the soles of his feet, the tops of both feet become very sweaty. He said he hasn't had sweaty feet for a long time. Can this be explained please?

Do you want me to explain why after Non-invasive neurostimulation your patient perspired? because, as a result from the InterX stimulation, there is an activation in Autonomic nervous system. the InterX first produces activation of sympathetic system, then after 15 - 20 minutes of stimulation followed by a strong parasympathetic relaxation. perspiration is a function of sympathetic activation. Parasympathetic relaxation along with the release of endorphins is responsible for reduction of pain long term as well as sleep improvement. that is why, it is not unusual for your patients to comment on sleep improvement after even the first treatment and specifically after a course of treatments.

good work:)
