CRPS or hypermobility. they don't know i think some kind of diabetic neropathy

i have and interx hand held with a flexible aray. i bought it some time ago but we haven't used it for quite some time so i don't really know the correct positions and settings. mine has levels 1 - 5 and a + and -  on it.

3 years ago my son came out of the army with painful feet. spent the first two months bed rest for a couple of days then up on his feet for a couple until he couldn't get on his feet as they were too painful. he had to sleep on the the sofa down stairs. we were given a working diagnoses of CRPS. he got depressed and suffered with insomnia as you would expect. two years on we got a diagnoses of hypermobility in his feet. his feet are never inflammed they are cold to the touch, pale coloured and clammy they don't hurt him if he doesn't stand on them. the tops of his feet are fine. when i go down his leg with the interx i get the noise but as soon as i go under the his ankle bones on the inside of his foot there is not any noise. there is noise on the top of his foot. infact there is noise every where that is ok but on the places he has pain no noise. i have been doing an experiment and only using the interx for one foot for the last 3 days. he is still reporting the same level of pain when he stands but the foot that i have been treating is warmer.......so i know something is happening.

he was overpronating a lot and he has been given orthotics to wear which  do help some what. he is on trazodone for the sleep and depression. they do allow him a nights sleep. he always says his feet are worse if he doesn't get enough sleep. and three weeks ago he started on gabapentin. he generally wont take meds as he doen't like them. he says they make no difference. he should take 3 gabapentine but will only take one at night because they make him feel spacy.

last week he was given two injections under his ankle (where the noise stops) he said it felt like pins and needles in his feet and  he did get blood back in his feet they felt warm and not clammy. the only place he said  still hurt was the back of the heel which remained cold and clammy.

as a child we wouldn't buy him pop, biscuits or sweets because he used to go hyper active. we thougt it might be the additives. but the other week he had to go to hospital because opening his eye was too painful and it was watering and sensitive to light. the doctor said that he had some inflammed cells at the back of his eye and gave him some drops. it has settled down now until last night. although he has had a glucose intolerence test about 1 year ago that came bacl ok. i am thinking that he could have hyperglycemia because every sympton fits. when he was in the army he used to spend about £5  everynight on chocolate and coke. He is sugar mad he would eat puddings over dinner everytime if i let him. then he goes through a period of going all day and not eating becuase he doesn't feel hungry. he gets stomach ache when he gets hungry and as soon as he has eaten he goes ridiculously tired and says he feels funny.

I have just arranged with him to stick to a 5 -6 small meals a day and totally no sugar.....to try to get in a routine with his eating so we have a start point.

Its very hard to know what to do.......if anyone has any sugestions i would REALLy appreciate it.......I believe there is an answer i just could do with a little help finding it................Yours sincerely Liz
